“Anything I cannot transform into something marvelous, I let go.” — Anais Nin

Everyone has a story. In fact, we have multiple stories spread throughout our lifetime.

Some of the stories are wrought with pain and suffering, and those seem to be the ones we hold onto.

Why? I’m not sure. I guess it is human nature. We are prone to look at the negative far more often than the positive. We hold on to the suffering far too long.

But what if we let it go?

What if we let that story go to write a new and better one?

I would like to challenge you to do just that. Choose to let it go.

And how do we handle it when the story begins to creep back into our brain?

Try this.

I recently watched a reel in which this woman talked about naming her brain. Her brain’s name is Becky. Whenever a dark thought comes into her brain she says something like, “Becky, not today my girl. I can’t do that.”

I love the idea of naming our brains to help the dark thoughts leave. We can have a conversation with them and remind them that we are in this together. Our goal is to write our story. It’s time to leave the painful stories behind.

I think I’ll name my brain Stacy.

What will you name yours?

Let’s keep in touch and see how it goes.

Cheers!
