Choosing to Eat Better

What if you had an easy place to find recipes with foods you knew were healthy?

Look no further, because I’ve got you covered. In Episode 155 of my podcast, Let the Adventure Begin with Chris Denker, I talked about eating better. You can listen to it here: Eating Better.

In the episode, I specifically talked about the Yuka app and how it’s been a game-changer. I view what I buy and what I eat differently now. (And no, I get no kickback from Yuka by promoting their app.)

I’m creating a product that will make YOUR life easier. It will include easy recipes and products to buy. These products won’t have harmful additives.

Over the next few months, I will be adding recipes to this page. I will also include product information. This will happen randomly before launching the product.

Easy Dinner: Flatbread Pizza with a side salad

Ingredients for Flatbread Pizza (Vegetarian and Meat)

  • Neapolitan Thin Pizza Crust by Brooklyn Bred (82/100 rating)
  • Extra Firm Tofu by Mori-Nu (90/100 rating)
  • Broccoli florets
  • Provolone Cheese by Great Lakes Cheese (31/100 rating for saturated fat and sodium)
  • Traditional Pizza Sauce by Good & Gather (90/100 rating)
  • Italian Seasoning (no rating)
  • The meat flatbread has sauce, hamburger, Italian seasoning, and provolone cheese on it.

The salad I made was a typical garden salad with Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and boiled egg with Annie’s Natural Goddess Dressing (27/100 rating). While the rating is in the poor range, it only has one additive with limited risk, too much sodium, and too many calories per serving.

My goal with dressing is to start making my own. To be completely honest, I haven’t found a salad dressing with a high rating. Stay tuned for homemade dressings that are healthy and won’t break the bank to make.

Note: The Yuka App has four category ratings:

  • 76-100: Excellent
  • 50-75: Good
  • 25-49: Poor
  • 0-24: Bad
