Advice for myself

I think I’ve been putting too much pressure on myself lately.

I’ve been trying to be someone I’m not. I consume a lot of content, and I try to write pieces that are going to finally put me on track to making some serious money.

In doing so, I’ve lost my enjoyment for writing. I keep trying to play to the algorithm, focus on the analytics, use the best tags to gain readers, etc.

You know, play the game.

I’m tired of playing the game.

So, I’m just going to write, because I enjoy it. I’m going to write about what I enjoy.

I enjoy my mornings.

I enjoy my job. I mean, I really enjoy what I do.

I enjoy the small circle of people in my life.

I enjoy being around people until I don’t.

I enjoy the ebbs and flows of daily living. Nothing monumental but I like it.

I enjoy sitting down with a good book and a cup of hot tea, even in the summer.

I enjoy baking four-ingredient bread and smash chickpea salad.

I enjoy building things all on my own.

That’s a small sampling, but that’s what I enjoy. And I’m going to write about it.

Until next time, Cheers!
